It was a summer’s day in Perth but this was not like most summer’s days because it was overcast with showers.  Not really what you would expect to get when you plan your wedding in summer, in Perth.  At least it wasn’t cold so we were not going to let a few drops of rain dampen our day.  Kate and Andrew had been planning this very special day at the Quarry Farm for over a year (probably longer if you know Kate well: this girl is admirably super organized) and the day had finally come, come rain or shine, this was their big day!

In spite of the gloomy skies both lovebirds were calm and relaxed whilst getting ready and although we kept hoping the sun might make an appearance, it was the only thing on this day that was not meant to be.  Once we left them after getting ready, the rain unfortunately got heavier but luckily we had umbrellas!

Kate and Andrew fell in love with the rustic farm feel of this location and the fact that it was an all-in-one kind of venue. The last thing they wanted to do on their wedding day was waste time travelling between venues; they had quite a few guests from abroad attending and wanted to spend as much time as possible with them.  Therefore the Quarry Farm was the ideal venue.

The ceremony went without glitches and Melanie from Add meaning to ceremonies was lovely!  After the congratulations and a bit of singing in the rain during the family/group photos, we grabbed our brollies and headed off the explore the grounds and sheds for the bridal photos.  These guys were great during the one-on-one bridal photos time and definitely did not mind getting a bit wet.  Once the bridal photos were done, and the dress had been dried under the hand dryer in the bathroom, they were ready to meet their guests and have a bit of fun at the reception.  This reception sure did have it all: speeches, shoe game, garter game, bouquet toss, cake cutting and finally a first dance – phew!  These days we don’t really see that many activities during a reception so we had a ball capturing all the action and fun.

Enjoy have a sneak peak of Kate and Andrew’s wonderful wedding!
